Winter Sanquhar Gloves
Sanquhar Gloves have a fixed architecture, so needles and yarn thickness must change in order to work in different sizes. The pattern begins with making a gauge swatch. You can knit the year and initials into part of the cuff above the corrugated ribbing. There is a thumb gusset, made with raised increases (photos included). The pattern has Technique Boxes and Theory Boxes and Tips, a book list for further reading, a glossary, and a schematic of sorts to explain the layout of the gloves.
For a woman’s pair, 4 skeins are needed of Upton Yarns (2 white and 2 green). You can also substitute solid sock yarns.
