The colour block is a little different to normal - I couldn’t figure out how to expand it and have it still make sense. Each row on the colour block is two rows, with the black lines and the star knit in stockinette (purl on the wrong side rows) to create the segmented texture (see Figure 1 and Figure 2). The lines could be knit in intarsia while knitting or duplicate stitched after the scarf is done. I find duplicate stitch gives a neater wrong side at the end.

This scarf can be knit in any yarn you like. The scarves in the pictures were knit in Four Seasons Stallion (grey and black) and Paton’s Metallic (Platinum) and Four Seasons Marvel (black)

The idea behind the scarf was for the arm section to be able to hang down on full view, so it makes up less than half of the scarf, but you can knit the black to any desired length.
