There is an error in the pattern as written.

Row 3 should say With A, K1, * k1, sl 1 wyib; repeat from * across.

Row 4 should say With A, purl.

The instructions give 4 rows for the pattern repeat, then say to “repeat rows 1-2 for pattern.” I’m sure this must be “repeat rows 1-4 for pattern.”

I’ve left a note on the Premier website, so I hope they will re-issue the pattern or note the error somewhere.
