Winter is not my favourite time of the year. It’s cold, it’s dark, and if you live in the UK it rains more often than snows.

Of course there are still lots of things to love about winter. There’s Christmas with all its lights and bells and fun with the family, and when it actually snows it’s so beautiful… There’s ice skating, mulled wine, candied apples and gingerbread, and for a while everything is bejeweled with frost and glistening icicles.

But there are also ice cold hands. So to keep them toasty but still stylish I decided to knit up a pair of fingerless gloves with my favourite technique, stranded knitting. To maximize the warmth and to keep my countless rings and bracelets from catching on the strands I even lined them with some cosy fleece. Now I mind winter a bit less.

Matching headband here.
