Winter Tide Beaded shawl is my first published pattern,
February 2015 issue of I Like Knitting
This shawl was inspired by a low winter tide while walking along the beach on a cold winter evening. The way the waves decorate the shoreline while they are going back out into the ocean leaves the most magical impressions in the sand. The pattern is delicate yet dense, providing perfect warmth on those chilly winter evenings. The chosen yarn for the sample was Desert Vista Dyeworks Vior in “Summer Tide” colorway. The vibrant toning lends to a look with excellent stitch definition and drape. The size and shape of the shawl lends itself to be worn either traditionally or draped in a number of ways around the neck, enhancing any outfit for any occasion.
SHAPE: Bottom-up, triangular
NOTIONS: Stitch markers (Optional), tapestry needle for weaving ends.
PATTERN STYLE: The pattern contains written as well as chart instructions. There is a key and full abbreviation list included as well.
DIFFICULTY: Intermediate. This pattern has lace that is worked on the RS as well as the WS. While the pattern is memorable, it does require a little concentration.
YARN: This pattern is better suited for gradiant, soild or tonal yarn to show off the detail of the lace.
If you have purchased this pattern after August 10, 2015, the pattern has been corrected. The below errata is from the February 2015 issue of I Like Knitting
