Winter Toque for 18" Doll
My little girl needed a winter hat for her doll. It’s cold here in Winnipeg and dolls suffer the cold too! :D
I searched for a hat similar to the hat I had pictured in my head, but couldn’t find one that was quite right. So I made up my own.
You can use any sort of worsted weight yarn and it should work. I crochet quite tightly, so use the hook that best works to make it fit your doll.
Supplies Needed to fit an 18″ doll:
a small amount of worsted weight yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver) for the main colour, the edging and then a scrap of yarn for the middle of the flower
A size G (4.00 mm) crochet hook
a yarn needle for weaving in ends and sewing the flower to the hat
Time Needed:
This took me an evening while I was trying to figure it out, so it should take someone with reasonable crochet skills only about an hour.
Skill Needed:
Basic crochet skills. You should know how to crochet in the round and Half Double Crochet (hdc)
