“…to Grandmother’s house we go!”

Whether on the road or curled up on the sofa at Grandma’s house, this cozy blanket is sure to keep little ones snug and warm. Cushy cables surround the basketweave checkerboard grid created by alternating stockinette and garter stitch. Wrap it around your little ones or spread it out in front of the fireplace to play a large game of checkers. Construction begins with two long cable panels surrounded by seed stitch. Stitches are picked up along one of the panels, then knitting continues with smaller cable panels surrounding the garter/stockinette checkerboard. One long seam with the second cable panel finishes the blanket. Worked up quickly in Studio Chunky, this fun, fast knit creates dramatic results. Doubling as both warmth and entertainment, this practical blanket is the perfect travel companion.
