Happy Winter! #freebeefridayknits! - I know it’s summer elsewhere but to me this little creature speaks of winter and white and Christmas and magic…

Barn Owl - ‘Tyto Alba’ apparently and what a cool name (sounds like a name that should be in Harry Potter maybe?!)

Anyhow - I’m quite happy how this fellow has turned out - he’s knitted as one piece - joining whilst you go along - and I’ve included detailed making up images and instructions in the pattern so it’s not too complicated… and you could always message me if you get stuck!

I used Drops Alpaca - two shades at once - not only because it’s good value and super fluffy and owl feather soft but because it had the most perfect barn owl shades imaginable…

And there’s the pine cones - super large, medium and small - the large one I love as an alternative pillow…

And a little reminder that the next #freebeefridayknits will hopefully be in a months time - that’s January as long as Christmas doesn’t get in the way - and after that every month as usual…
