The Winter Woods Beanie is crocheted using worsted weight yarn and a size J crochet hook. The beanie is topped with a DIY fur pompom made from faux fur purchased at your local fabric or craft store. Directions are given for making the pompom.

The finished slouchy beanie measures approximately 9 1/2 inches from the top of the hat to the edge. The hat should fit a head circumference between 18” and 23”. A soft, light-weight worsted yarn like Lion Brand Heartland or Caron Simply Soft works best for this hat.

Worsted weight (size 4) yarn, one skein Lion Brand Heartland
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
¼-yard faux fur fabric (you will have plenty left over to make more pompoms)
Tapestry needle with a sharp point for hand-sewing faux fur
