Winter Woolfie the realistic wolf
With this clear written pattern, you can make a super cute and realistic-looking crochet wolf. This .pdf crochet pattern is written in standard American crochet terms.
This is a moderate pattern to crochet. Most parts work up pretty easily, but the reversed loop stitches for the head, chest and tail take some extra effort.
Size
If you use the recommended yarn, your wolf will be 6 inch / 15 cm sitting.
Materials
For this crochet wolf you’ll need worsted weight yarn (Lètt Lopi) and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need three main colours and a dark colour for the nose and tail tip: light ash heather 0054 (1/5 of a 100-yard skein), barley 1419 (1/5), grey 0057 (1/5) and a left-over bit of sheep black 0052. For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes. You will also need fibrefill and pellets for extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads). A pipe-cleaner to make the tail bendable is optional.
The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal. Pictures and illustrations to help getting everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by an experienced crocheter before publishing.
Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
