This hat pattern is both cute and cozy! The stranded knitting provides a thick, double-layer of protection for your ears and hands in bouts of chilly weather. The pattern is fun but not too complicated, perfect for both beginners and more advanced knitters.

Sizing
I have provided instructions for 3 sizes, for which the finished hat is 16”/40.5cm (18”/46cm) (22”/56 cm) in circumference. You should choose a size that will give 2-3”/5-7.5cm negative ease so that the hat will hold onto your head snugly.

The heights of the finished hats are 7.5”/19cm (8”/20cm) (8.7”/22cm) tall. To add more length simply add more rows of ribbing, or more rows of plain stockinette in MC before/after the “colorwork body” section.

Yarn
Worsted-weight yarn:

  • 40-70 m (45-75 yds) main color (background)
  • 40-60 m (45-65 yds) contrasting color (flowers)
