The Wintergreen Mittens are a super cozy accessory for the cold winter weather. They are a quick knit with a bold cable design. The pattern calls for super bulky weight yarn that is a little on the lighter side. I have suggested three yarn brands below that are the perfect weight.

This entire project is knit in the round on double pointed needles, or you can substitute a magic loop. The thumb is a gusset thumb that will be placed onto a placeholder and then picked up and finished up at the end.

Gauge
6 sts and 9.5 rows make a 2” square in stockinette stitch, worked in the round

Materials
105 yds (145g/133m) of super bulky weight yarn
Suggested Yarns:
Malabrigo Noventa
Baah Yarn Sequoia
Manos del Uruguay Franca
US 9 (5.5mm) double pointed needles (or circular needles for a magic loop)
US 10.5 (6.5mm) double pointed needles (or circular needles for a magic loop) you will need dpns to work the thumb
Stitch holder or scrap yarn (for thumb place holder)
Cable needle
1 Stitch marker
Tapestry needle to weave in ends
