This pattern was first published in Latvian in the first issue of Radåm magazine as Vēlrudens Saltumā (Winterly Vibes).
Inspired by the arrangements of migrating birds in the fall, Winterly Vibes collar will keep warm not only the neck but also the shoulders. Knit up in the softest merino, it can easily become your favourite accessory. Recommended with a shirt, classic trousers or jeans, and if worn under a coat or a jacket, it easily creates an illusion of a cosy cable-knit turtleneck sweater.
Sizes: One size, width from shoulder to shoulder: 38 cm / 15“
Yarn: DK or sport weight, depending on the length, allow approximately: 500 m Yarn used in the sample is 2 skeins of Malabrigo Arroyo (100% Merino, 306 m / 100 g), Sandbank colourway.
Gauge: 21 sts & 30 rows = 10 cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch on larger needles, blocked.

- 4.0 mm (US 6) circulars 40-60 cm / 18-24

Notions: Markers, row counter, tape measure, tapestry needle, locking markers.
Techniques used: Short rows, icord edge, i-cord bind-off, backwards loop cast-on.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Notes: The collar is worked seamlessly from the top down. Back stitches are cast-on, the shoulders are shaped using short rows, the back is then worked straight down to desired length and bound-off using i-cord bind-off. Stitches for each front shoulder are picked up along the back shoulders and worked separately with increases shaping the front neckline. Front is then worked straight to to match the length of the back and bound off. Stitches are picked up around the neckline and 2x2 ribbing worked in the round to desired length.
