This shawl was initially designed for the 2020 Miss Babs Book Club.

For the Miss Babs Book Club, June 2021. Named after the mysterious writer, Vida Winter, from The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield, Winter’s Tale is an asymmetrical lace shawlette with sinuous twin leaves juxtaposed against linear textured crossed stitches. The contrast between intertwining, twisting lace and columns of texture refer to the book’s multiple story lines which explore the complexity of relationships between siblings and especially twins. The shawl is worked from one tip to one side edge, and increases are made along one edge which then becomes the wingspan. Worked with one strand of mohair held with one strand of sport yarn, Winter’s Tale works up quickly into a cozy accessory.

Requires 600 yds each of sport and mohair yarns, with yarns held together, or 600 yds of dk or worsted weight yarn.
