WinterTide
The inspiration for this sweater came from my handsome son. He requested a sweater that was modern but not too fancy. I allowed him to select the yarn for this project and together we brought his sweater to life.
Wintertide is an easy knit men’s sweater with decorative ribbing that extends down the sleeves. The pattern is intended to be simple and easy to knit using only a few simple stitches. It includes sizing from a men’s size small right up to a 5XL.
The sweater is worked top down, in the round with circular needles, using the magic loop method for the sleeves, or double pointed needles, if you prefer. There are two different yarns used for this sweater, however you can use any worsted weight yarn you like, it does not have to be the same. As this was a self-striping yarn, I let it do its thing on the body and then controlled the sleeve colour changes to match the body. There are links in the pattern notes to instructional videos to assist in certain stages of the sweater.
Skills Used: ribbing, working in the round, increasing, and decreasing, top-down sweater construction with separation of sleeves at the end of the raglan, picking up or stitches
