Wintery Woods Socks
Winter is not my favourite season, but there are magical days that are just perfect. The snow is sparkly on the trees and underfoot. The sky seems a more intense blue than in summer. The stitch pattern evokes the pine trees and the walking trails that I love to walk and listen to the birds singing as my boots crunch over the snow.
Welcome to the Wintery Woods!!
Thank you to Amanda from Sweet Skein ‘o’ Mine for taking my inspiration and putting it in yarn form with this gorgeous “Into The Woods” colourway
The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration.
The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the toe up with my rounded toe. It has a gusset, a German short row heel turn and slip stitch heel flap for a fantastic fit. The pattern includes an easy to calculate measurement to make sure that you start your gusset in the right spot. There are also video tutorials to support you through this sock construction.
It is a simple but very enjoyable pine tree stitch pattern that spurs you on to keep knitting…my favourite kind of socks! You feel the need to just do one more pattern repeat. There is a video included that shows the very easy way to catch the float to make those fun branches.
1 skein of fingering weight yarn.
Huge thanks to my test knitters Leanne D, Heather, Jenn, Rochelle, Darlene, Mara and Leanne W. for their feedback and their beautiful socks.
