Intrigued by the differences in several yarns labeled “Bulky”, I was inspired to create a design especially for the lighter bulky weight. It has the advantage of having drape and a moderate thickness, allowing it to be worn over or under an outer garment. Also, for travel, the Ponchette folds and fits in less space than a heavier bulky garment. It is sized from S to 3X. The Ponchette has two reversible rib stitches as borders and a drifting cable stitch of my own. It is knit in the round on circular needles.
Made in the merino yarn from Expression Fiber Arts called ‘Buttery Bulky’, it is warm, soft and luxurious. The icy colors suggest the winds and drifting snow of winter.

Shown in size M. Length: 15”, hem circumference: 58”
All sizes, Length: 15”, adjustable, above the elbow. Extra yardage is included for additional length in larger sizes. Personally, I usually knit as much of the yarn as possible, leaving a yard or two for repairs.
