Wipe
Wipe is a napkin, or whatever you need it to be in the moment! It’s the perfect picnic companion, and it’s even useful to pick up a hot dish while camping. The reversible textured knit/purl pattern adds paisley shapes that appear as you knit. The samples use 2 skeins of DK weight Allhemp 6, hemp for knitting, with contrasting colors, but you can use approximately 200 yards (183 meters) of whatever DK weight yarn suits your needs. The sizing is flexible.
Choose hemp or linen for a breathable option with drape, or cotton for a textured absorbent layer.
This square is a quick knit, requiring only knit and purl stitches, and other basic skills. A twisted, slip-stitched edging provides a rustic edge for linen that doesn’t gap. Both written instructions and a beginner’s texture chart are included. Wipe, as pictured in Aubergine, measures approximately 6½ “/16.5 cm square.
Accessibility Note: This pattern offers an additional Low Vision pdf option, with Arial 24 point sans serif font in all black text and photo captions. It has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out. If there’s a chart included, there are also written instructions- the chart is not needed to complete the pattern.
