Wire Sweater Junior
Construction:
The sweater is knitted from the top down. Stitches are cast on for the back piece, which is worked flat while doing increases. Stitches are then picked up along the upper edge of the back piece, for the left and then right shoulder piece. The two shoulder pieces are worked flat and with increases to create the neckline. The two pieces are joined to create the front piece, which is also worked flat. The front and back pieces are eventually joined, creating the body which is worked in the round and finished with a rib edge and Italian cast-off. Stitches are picked up along the neckline and worked in rib, folded double and knitted into place.
Finally, the sleeves are made by picking up stitches along the armholes and working them in the round while doing increases on the underside. They are finished with a rib and Italian cast-off.
