Wise Woman was created after the birth of my third child as a gift for my amazing homebirth midwife. I set out to make something appropriate for this strong and courageous but still feminine woman that delivered two of my children and countless babies safely for over 30 years. The result was a deeply textured but modern cowl that wears easily and is meant to be a wardrobe staple, yet is suitable for the advancing beginner to knit. It is made from less than one hank of beautiful Lorna’s Laces Haymarket yarn in DuPage, it drapes wonderfully and has a lovely sheen. DuPage has slight variations of purple, the color of wisdom and my midwife’s favorite color. Knit one for the Wise Woman (or Wise Woman in training) in your life!
