Wise Women Wear Purple is an asymmetric triangular shawl in two colours. It could, however, be just as successfully knitted in a single colour, allowing just the textural effect of the stitches to dominate.

Wise Women Wear Purple features a textured pattern of reverse stockinette and vertical twisted-rib ridges together with large volumes of simple garter stitch. This shawl is worked flat and is knitted point to flat end from written instructions. It would look great in any yarn, but has been designed to showcase one solid and one variegated yarn.

Blocking is recommended to show the pattern to maximum effect.

Yarn
Any two skeins of fingering weight yarn. This example:

365m/ 400yd Colour: Royal

Total yarn used: 200g = 804m/879yd

Note: Substitutions of heavier or lighter weight yarn are not recommended, but if you must, contain your deviation to either a 3ply light fingering or a 5 ply sport, remembering any change will also affect the gauge, needles and amount of yarn required, and the finished measurements of the shawl
