Close fitting on the neck, the wishbone cable pulls in the circumference for extra warmth, making it more of a gaiter than a cowl. The Rios is soft and squishy against your skin, making the close fit comfortable to wear.

You can have a wider circumference by adding another cable (set of 16 sts) and you can also use handspun wool if you are a spinner. My finished cowl weighs 80g, so you will have leftovers from your 100g Rios if you follow the pattern exactly, or enough wool to make it one cable wider.

Skills required are knitting in the round and using a cable needle. The pattern begins immediately after the cast on and finishes a sequence (end of Round 6 of the repeat pattern) before you bind off, creating a fluted edge top and bottom. There is no ribbing.

Be aware that cables generally bring the width of your knitting in, so knit a sample to see how wide your cable width will be and adjust the stitch count accordingly.
