Wisteria
This vest is a simple rectangular shape with armholes worked in a combination of stockinette stitch, garter stitch, and a one-row repeat lace pattern. This project is deliberately worked at a looser gauge than is typical for sportweight yarn to create a drapey effect and would be good for spring and fall. Using worsted-weight yarn at the same gauge would make a winter vest.
NEEDLES
Size U.S. 10½ (6.5 mm): straight and 16” (40.5 cm) circular (cir).
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS
Smooth waste yarn for provisional cast-on; markers (m); tapestry needle.
GAUGE
16¼ sts and 24 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st after blocking.
16¼ sts and 24½ rows = 4” (10 cm) in textured stripe patt.
16¼ sts and 24 rows = 4” (10 cm) in lace border patt.
