If you think of a spindly, old witch sitting in her thatched roof hut, elbows propped on her small, wooden table, her long, arthritic fingers intertwined, you’ll get the name for the Witch Fingers Headband. This pattern consists of a scallop-edged, twisted cable design. The piece is knit flat and sewn together with a sandwich fold. However, because the knitted fabric is fully reversible, there are so many creative options for modifications!

The pattern is written for three weights: bulky, light super bulky, and super bulky. There are two versions for super bulky (short cables or long cables). Also included with the pattern are several tips for modifying the size and the ease of the headband. There is also a link to a video tutorial on how to seam the twist in the headband. All weights include both written and charted instructions.

Needles and Notions
Bulky
US 9/5.5mm straight or 24”/61 cm circular needles.
Light Super Bulky
US 10.5/6.5mm straight or
24”/61 cm circular needles.
Super Bulky
US 13/9.0 mm straight or 24”/61 cm circular needles.
Notions
Cable needle, locking stitch marker, crochet hook or large eye tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Any length of circular needle cord can be used; however, any size less that 24”/61 cm length gets very tight with flat knitting. This can cause the needles to slide out of the last few sts, especially when cabling.
