Needles & Notions:
Size US 6 24” circular needles
Optional: Another set of US 6 24” circular needles
Tapestry needles for weaving in ends
Blocking supplies

Gauge:
10 stitches and 28 rows over 2 inches.

Finished measurements:
34 inches long x 8 inches wide (before seaming)
17 inches long x 8 inches wide (after seaming)

Notes:
Since this pattern is knit flat, it is super easy to customize to any weight yarn and/or any length of cowl. Want to knit with a thicker weight yarn? Cast on fewer stitches and use larger needles. Want a longer cowl? Knit more repeats.

There are a few ways you can block this cowl:

  • Block flat on blocking boards with t-pins after seaming
  • Block flat on blocking boards with t-pins before seaming
  • Block cowl with cans to assist in the cowl not having creases. You can do this by stacking cans on top of blocking boards opposite each other the length of the cowl and stretching out the cowl lengthwise to really get the length desired. (Cowl must be seamed for this one to work.)
