Without Loss of Generality Shawl
The Without Loss of Generality Shawl is named after a math phrase I enjoy using. In math, the phrase without loss of generality is used when the differences between cases are trivial. This lets you use a particular case to prove a more general idea. In the without loss of generality shawl, the stripes and accent rows are identical, except for their color. Some have a main color background and a contrast color stripe and others are reversed.
The shawl pattern includes an easy repeat and is perfect for playing with color.
The rectangular shawl is made by first working the center square. Next, one side of the shawl is worked by continuing along two sides of the square. The other side is then worked by continuing along the other two sides of the square. The two sides are identical.
The shawl includes two written sizes and information to customize the depth and width of the shawl. The pattern also includes color suggestions.
