WOBO mitts
To be honest, these mitts look quite strange while you are working them. The pattern is all squished up and they look too small to fit. But then you put them on, and voilà, they are beautiful. So, I’ve gone for WOBO as the name: Weird Off, Beautiful On!
They are a quick knit using heavy worsted or aran weight yarn with an easily memorised pattern, suitable for confident beginners and more experienced knitters alike. A solid colour yarn will work best to show off the pattern. You can use circulars and magic loop, or dpns. If you haven’t done cables before, they would make a great first cable project.
Pattern includes sizing for: teen/adult small (approx. 6.5” or 16.5 cm), adult medium (approx. 7.5” or 19 cm) and adult large (approx. 8.5” or 21.5 cm). Within the pattern, the instructions for size S are given first, the instructions for size M and L follow in brackets.
Thanks to my fabulous testers for testing!
Supplies:
Allow 130-165 yards (120-150m) heavy worsted or aran weight yarn that knits to gauge. This includes a safety margin on my usage. Sample was knit using Merino Magic 10 ply (85m per 50g.)
US 7 (4.5 mm) needles (circular or dpns) (or size to achieve gauge) for the mitt, and US 6 (4 mm) needles (circular or dpns) (or one size smaller than your main needle) for cuff.
Needle for sewing in ends.
Waste yarn.
2 stitch markers: one should be distinct as your beginning of round marker.
Cable needle
