Just look at this adorable Wolf Cub. It’s cute, cuddly, easy to hold an very, very lovable. This wolf cub promises that it’s up for lots and lots of cuddles and it even promises that it won’t howl at night (even when the moon is high).

This Wolf Cub is suitable for intermediate level knitters and assumes an understanding of basic stitches, short rows and standard knitting terms. Our Wolf Cub is knit flat and sewn together using a mattress stitch.

If you’re new to knitting stuffed friends, or are uncomfortable winging it without strict guidelines (that’s OK, we all need good directions sometimes to help us out) you will need approximately 30 m of medium weight dark grey (DG) coloured yarn,41 m of medium weight light grey (LG) coloured yarn and 16 m of medium weight white (W) coloured yarn. With this yarn, use 4 mm (US size 6) needles. You will also need a small amount of yarn for embroidering the face, stuffing (we use polyfil or wool) and a tapestry needle to sew your wolf cub together. This will let you create a wolf cub that’s approximately 20 cm (8 inches) in length.

The beauty of knitting stuffed friends is that this pattern can be knit in any size yarn with accompanying needles. Generally we find using a size or two smaller needles than required by the yarn allows for the tightness needed when you’re stuffing your finished product.
