Wolf Rock
Wolf Rock is a semi-circular shawl which is shaped using Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Pi Shawl Method
It begins with a small number of stiches and increase rows are worked at set points which double the stitch count each time
This makes knitting lace patterns more straightforward as you do not need to keep track of shaping the shawl at the same time as working the lace
It has four different lace patterns separated by bands of slipped stitches which add some texture and make the most of variegated and semi-solid yarns
The sample used Malabrigo Mechita in the following approximate amounts:
Colour A. Anniversario – 98g/411y/380m
Colour B. Hojas – 82g/369y/311m
Please be aware that the sample used almost all of the colour A yarn. If you have a shorter yardage skein or are knitting at a looser gauge then the pattern has a couple of suggestions on where to change the colour order. You could also add a third colour if you wished
Approximately 7sts/12rows per inch/2.5cm after blocking in the slipped stich pattern. Gauge is not crucial but will affect the finished size and the yardage used. The sample was approximately 58”/147cm wide by 21”/54cm deep
The lace patterns are both written and charted, the slipped stitch pattern is written only
If you have purchased the pattern but would like a large print version then please let me know and I will be happy to provide one
