Wolftrap Shawl
This is a small shawl/shawlette perfect for wearing around the neck like a scarf. It’s great for spring in warmer climates, cool summer evenings, and warding off fall breezes.
LEVEL
Easy
MATERIALS
Yarn: Sport weight yarn - Approximately 488 yds total
The sample was made with the following: Hand Dyed Diva Sport (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 3½ oz/100 gr; 300 yds/274 m) 2 skeins Pewter Rose.
Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles and 32”/80 cm long OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN THE CORRECT GAUGE.
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle GAUGE 23 sts and 32 rows = 4”/10cm in Woven Stitch pattern, after blocking.
Gauge is not critical to the success of this project but working to a different gauge will change the finished measurements and the amount of yarn required.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Wingspan: 43.5in/110.5cm
Length at center: 17in
NOTE
This triangular shawl begins at the center back neck with a small garter tab and is worked down and outward. All slipped stitches are slipped as if to purl. If you want this shawl to be a bit bigger try using DK yarn with a size 6 needle! Just an idea…!
