Wonderwool Express
Wonderwool Express was designed as a CAL (crochet along) for a coach trip to Wonderwool Wales 2013. The main pattern is something you can easily get into the rhythm of, so you can crochet without thinking too hard. Once you are set up there is only one repeated pattern row – perfect for a coach trip. The main pattern makes a simple lacy scarf, but you can add edging and beads to turn it into something more elegant. Some ideas are included to help inspire you.
It was designed for double knit or 4 ply / fingering weight yarn, but can be adapted to any weight.
It is reversible, perfect for a scarf.
Once complete the scarf has a lovely simple finish and you do not need any fringe or edging at the ends. If you prefer you can add picots, beads, shell or fringe – just use your imagination to create your own unique scarf.
The finished size is 12.5 cm wide by 180 cm long (including fringe) for double knit or 14 cm by 210 cm for 4 ply.
It is written in English crochet terms and is charted (with key in English and US terms). By popular request, the pattern has now been updated to include written US crochet instructions in full.
