Wondrous Waltz
Description
This pattern is not currently available to buy as a standalone design; it’s the first release of six accessory patterns in the highly original and exciting Yarnadelic Remixes 0.1 project by Felicity (Felix) Ford and Muriel Pensivy. Each pattern in this project is rooted in music, and the project has a rich, multimedia home on Teachable. The designs are contextualised with inspiring video and audio content that really brings their stories and musical links to life.
Wondrous Waltz is a matching accessory set is comprised of reversible hat and mitts, worked using the double-knitting technique. The motifs that decorate this set - along with its title - are taken from the bass lines of the songs Wondrous Place and Waltz. The pattern sample is worked in Yarnadelic yarn shades of the same names; an alternative colourway and hat chart by Muriel Pensivy - Indigo Lover - provide a different musical pattern and larger hat size options.
Details on size options
Because of the underlying mathematical relationship between the musical notes and the motifs used in the Yarnadelic Remixes 0.1 collection, for several of the patterns, adjusting the stitch-counts will throw the patterns out of alignment. For this reason, re-sizing designs to make them bigger or smaller is most easily achieved by tweaking the gauge at which they are knit. That way the stitch and round counts remain consistent, yet you are able to get a more exact fit.
While swatching for the designs in this collection for which this is applicable, please consult the relevant GAUGE TABLE provided with each pattern. These have been provided to assist you with working out which stitch (width) and round (height) counts you will need to achieve in order to get the best fit.
GAUGE TABLES, test-knitting and detailed notes on these patterns enable you to get the best fit by getting the right gauge for you head and hands. The full size range is given below for each accessory but, within the pattern, specific stitch and row counts are given to enable you to get the best fit for your head and/or hands.
Hat Sizes included: 50cm/19.5” - 60cm/23.5” circumference around brim; 17cm/6.75” - 26.5cm/10.5” from brim to crown.
Mitts Sizes included: 17.5cm/6.75” - 22.5cm/8.75” around hand; 21cm/8.25” - 25.5cm/10” from wrist to third knuckle
