Gauge: 12 sts and 16 rows = 4”/10cm in stockinette stitch; 3 ¼”/8.25cm w x 2 ¾“/7.0cm h = one pattern stitch repeat. Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect yardage and size of finished garment. It may be necessary to unravel gauge swatch and re-use the yarn. Take time to check gauge.

Needles: US 10.5/6.5mm straight and 20”/51cm circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
Crochet hook: size J/6.0mm
Notions: Yarn needle, stitch marker, 3 resealable plastic sandwich baggies

Notes: Main body section is worked as a rectangle in three columns of intarsia. The ends of the rectangle are overlapped to form a tube, then stitches are picked up along one edge to create the ribbed neckline. Neckline stitches are intentionally picked up from the wrong side (WS) as a design element. When working with long-color variegated yarns, wind off smaller balls of yarn as needed to match colors. Join new yarns within the stockinette areas of the stitch pattern, not at the beginning of a row or at the join between intarsia columns. Wind off smaller balls of yarn as needed to match colors.
