Woodhouse Gansay
My design ideas and advice: This jumper is inspired by my total and absolute love of fisherman’s gansays. The history and why they were made is what knitting means to me – a personal hand knitted garment that keeps the wearer warm, dry and surrounded with a feeling of being loved while they work hard. While this gansay is inspired by the traditional gansays it is not knitted in the traditional way – this one is knitted in my aran weight yarn and in flat pieces that are joined together.
