Like my other baby blanket designs, I designed this blanket using Rowan Cotton Glace because it is 100% cotton yarn, ideal for babies and children, with a wide colour palette, is hard wearing and washes well.

The pattern is written as colour charts and written instructions . There are 6 one shade squares each with a different pattern that reflects the theme of “Woodland” and 6 “picture” squares. Each square measures 15cm x 15cm (6ins x 6ins). The squares are knitted in strips bottom to top then sewn together vertically.

The pattern instructions are for three sizes: small 45cm x 60cm (18ins x 24 ins), medium 60cm x 75cm (24ins x 30ins), large 75cm x 75cm (30ins x 30ins) plus edging. The yarn amounts are calculated for the blankets as they appear in the photographs. I usually back the small blanket with quilting, there are instructions in the pattern for how to do this.

Small blanket: 4 x 50g 725 Ecru; 1 x 50g 864 Greengage; 1 x 50g 843 Toffee; 814 Shoot; less than 15g 812 Ivy; 730 Oyster; 445 Blood Orange; 726 Bleached; 727 Black; 741 Poppy; 832 Persimmon.
The completed blanket weighs approx 250 grams.

Medium blanket: 6 x 50g 725 Ecru; 2 x 50g 864 Greengage; 1 x 50g 843 Toffee; 814 Shoot; 812 Ivy; 730 Oyster; less than 15g 726 Bleached; 727 Black; 741 Poppy; 832 Persimmon; 445 Blood Orange.
The completed blanket weighs approx. 400 grams.

Medium blanket: 7 x 50g 725 Ecru; 2 x 50g 864 Greengage; 1 x 50g 843 Toffee; 814 Shoot; 812 Ivy; 730 Oyster; less than 15g 832 Persimmon; 726 Bleached; 445 Blood Orange; 727 Black; 741 Poppy.
The completed blanket weighs approx 500g.
