Woodland Creatures
If you’re curious about the photos and want to know the whole story behind the inspiration the shoot for this pattern, I talk about it all (and the interesting lens I used) on my podcast, The Wrong Side Podcast episode 3. starting at about 11:46
While I was working on this pattern, it was nicknamed The Woodland Creatures Shawl because when I was knitting the smaller sample (the one in greens and pink). The colours I had chosen reminded me of lichen on old growth trees, and the pink noses of bunnies and woodland mice.
I was still wavering on the name when I realized that the Woodland Creatures in question were probably all the same creatures and friends in attendance at the Fox Wedding I spoke about in one of my previous shawl patterns. :)
I can’t seem to get past that imagery, it’s just so lovely. So the name stuck!
Woodland Creatures is a rustic lovely simple top-down lace shawl. Worked in 4 colours of Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather Sport. The pattern contains both written and charted instructions and you can repeat either to make the shawl as large as you’d like.
As for all my for-pay patterns, if you find yourself low on funds please don’t hesitate to email (softsweaterknits@gmail.com) and I’d be happy to gift you a copy. Just make sure to include your ravelry username as well as the pattern you have your eye on.
Thank you to Nicola Hodges for modelling and to Glenda McDonald for Tech Editing!
