I have been admiring the turquoise colourway of James C. Brett’s Woodlander double knitting yarn in my local wool shop for some time! Eventually my will weakened and I bought all the 8 balls in stock, took them home and squirrelled them away in my yarn stash until an idea popped into my head.
Here you will find instructions of how I made a double breasted jacket, with long sleeves, a large collar and front, inset pockets. The pattern is written in two sizes (at the moment), UK sizes 10-12 and 14-16. It is made using a 6mm Tunisian crochet hook, Tunisian knit stitch extended and simple stitch purled.
Although the photograph shows a button in place, the jacket is made without buttonholes. The option is there to add snap fasteners and buttons if desired, but you may like to use a kilt pin, or a shawl pin, giving a multitude of ways in which to fasten the jacket.
