The Woodland Lace Shawl, is a smallish, light weight, crescent shaped wrap, and is just the thing for chilly evenings or air conditioned surroundings. Double rows of ridged eyelets and short-row garter stitch result in relaxed knitting and beautiful drape. This project knits up quickly, is suitable for novice knitters, and, while interesting, can be worked on in social situations with only moderate attention to pattern work.
Finished Size: 63” X 18” at deepest part (mid-back). Easily increase width (wingspan) by adding stitches to cast on. Add length by continuing short rows to end rather than stopping at the 35 stitch remaining point. Three - 50gm skeins (120 yd. each) of Sublime Yarns Sophia were used for this project with an insignificant amount left over. Substitute yarns of drapey DK - light worsted weight. Yarns of a single color or with modest shading are good choices to show off ridged eyelet stitch pattern.
