⭐️ Stitches used: Slip stitch, chain, single crochet, half double crochet

⭐️ About the even moss stitch: The even moss stitch creates a lovely textured finish in a dense, closed stitch without adding heft or bulk to the finished fabric. The stitch pattern is created by alternating slip stitches with half double crochets. Because of the difference in height between these 2 stitches, the 3rd loop of the half double crochet is pushed forward, creating a ridged effect in the fabric.

⭐️ Yarn: Any worsted weight yarn that’s soft and slightly stretchy. The sample was made with Lion Brand’s “Heartland” 100% acrylic - you’ll need up to 180-200 yds depending upon the size you make

⭐️ Hook: US size I-9 (5.5mm)

⭐️ Construction: Top down beginning with a flat circle crown, a body made entirely of even moss stitch (an easy to work 1 round repeat), finished off with a simple edging. The hat has 1” negative ease for a slightly snug fit.
