Wool and Waves
If you put three of my patterns in your cart for purchase, the fourth pattern will be free.
Two mini-skein sets were developed by Miss Babs (with some Pinterest inspiration input from moi) for Wool and Waves. Fun in the Sun and Follow the Rabbit are available as mini sets or as full sets (with the background yarn.) Find them all here or choose one of her other gorgeous sets to knit this shawl. If you’d like to share your work in progress, feel free to do so in the Casapinka group.
What do you call a shawl that you design at the beach, lifting it above blowing sand to avoid soda, sunscreen and sticky kids while doing so? Well, “Wool and Waves”, of course. It reminds me of times this summer where all I needed were wool, waves, and some laughter to keep me happy. A mai tai doesn’t hurt, either!
“Wool and Waves” is a large, boomerang shawl that consists of simple garter stitch and eyelets. Stitch counts are given but only because you love them. If I were knitting this (and guess what - I did!) I wouldn’t even look at the stitch counts after I got used to the technique; it’s that simple and forgiving.
Materials
One skein of Yummy 2-ply (400 yards) shown in Quicksilver, plus one Miss Babs Gradient Set, shown in Fun in the Sun - links above.
Final Measurements
97” long by 20” deep
Errata - Must have had that mai tai when uploading!
-
Set up: Row 6 should read: P1, k until 2 sts remain, k1fb, k1. (8 sts)
-
Section 2, (MC) Row 3 Should read: P1, k1fb, k until 3 sts remain, k2tog, k1.
-After BO there was a cut and paste error - just ignore it. These are all corrected in the update.
Note: There is a technique that I used in Painted Windows, where two strands are used together for a bit - it’s subtle and optional. Look at the middle of the shawl and you’ll see it. It’s not intarsia (but intarsia is awesome and you guys should learn to love it!)
