Wool Overs ~ Long Jons
“Wool Overs” are my Woolly soakers design, covers for cloth nappies.
The ‘’ Long jons “ are the leg covering version. I have loved using these this summer, as they are easy to wear with a t-shirt and your good to go. They have provided a comfortable temperature most of the summer, for the hotter days we use the “wool over ~ pants” version (coming soon!)
Reusable, eco friendly, flexible and simply beautiful.
The “Wool Over- long jons “ are knitted top down, so you can adjust the leg length to wherever you feel is best for your baby.
Three sizes of patterns are included, so you can knit whilst your baby grows.
Please note - The yardage suggestion is for the Duckling pattern
Sizes
Dimensions are to fit OVER the cloth of your choice. Once your cloth is on the baby, ( however it fits on before the top cover), you simply take a tape measure and get the hip circumference (from the front all the way round the bum and back to your centre starting point in centimetres), have the tape snug but not tightly:
These are approximate measurements for you to choose from.
Duckling ( 26 - 34 cms) = is 40 sts cast on, Yarn weight approx 70 grams.
Kitten ( 46 - 54 cms ) = is 60 sts cast on, Yarn weight approx 170 grams
Cub ( 66 - 74 cms ) = is 80 sts cast on Yarn weight approx 350 grams
yarn weights are a very loose guide as I am working with my homespun and this can vary.
Best created in pure wool.
