Three Small Pots (aka Wool Vessel(s) IV) are little felted/fulled wool containers! This project began as a miniaturized version of the original Wool Vessel, but I got carried away with experimenting and the desire to create a full-featured pattern write up for a cute mini version of my most popular houseware/organizer design.

This instantly-downloadable .PDF includes instructions for three closely-related miniature pots: an accurate miniature version of the original Wool Vessel, an extra-small version, and a tall, thin version. Where the numbers differ, I’ve kept them in that order: small pot(extra small, tall thin).

I used Knitpicks Wool of the Andes for these samples, and have tried to full/felt them as brutally as possible with very hot machine washing and drying.

Materials:

  • 110-180 yards of feltable wool for each pot, or 1-2 balls of Knitpicks Wool of the Andes (shown in Thyme, (Dove, Thyme) colorways)
  • 1 set of 5 DPNs and 1 16” circular needle in US7/4.5mm, or size needed for gauge.
  • 8 removable stitch markers (technically optional)
  • One crochet hook, in size suited to yarn
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge:
Gauge is 16 sts and 28 rows over 4”/10cm of garter stitch worked in the round, before blocking. Fulling/felting will determine the final size of the vessel.

Measurements:
Measurements will vary somewhat! For me, I ended up with pots that are all around 4-4.5” tall. An extra run through the felting process will make a slightly smaller pot, with a denser fabric you might prefer.
