Gather four colors of DK weight yarn and fade them from light to dark to create a magically melting color effect. A textured rib stitch forms the woolly waffle pattern with knit columns flowing toward a chevron border. This stitch pattern is easy and relaxing to knit, allowing you to focus on the beautiful faded color transitions. The edges of the shawl are framed with smooth I-cord details and sharp chevron border finished the shawl with a flourish. The pattern instructs where to stripe your four colors to help blend them together. Select a faded color palette that fills you with happiness and enjoy watching your colors shine with the beautiful semicircular shape and striking stitches.

Lavender Red Sample

Select colors in a series of shades from light to dark. Speckled colorways that share similar tones will have a smoother fading effect. For example, if colors A & B both share a similar pink tone, then those pink colors will blend nicely together when you stripe colors A & B for 2 rows each. Solid and semi-solid yarn choices may have a more distinct striping effect rather than a smooth blended color transition.

Needles
US 7 / 4.5mm circular in 40″ / 100cm length or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions
2 stitch markers, tapestry needle

Gauge
20 sts & 30 rows = 4″ / 10cm in pattern after blocking

I recommend casting on the shawl and start knitting to check your gauge. The shawl starts small at the top center, so you can use the beginning of the pattern to compare your gauge to the recommended gauge.
