This pattern is for a regular sized fair-isle hat in three colours with sizing options for small, medium and large sizes by varying needle sizes. Instructions and gauge are provided in the pattern.

The gauge is 30 sts x 32 rows per 10x10 cm for a medium adult size.

Although the sample is made in a ‘hairy’ yarn, any fingering weight yarn that gives the correct gauge can be used. Beware that when using a smoother yarn, the floats on the inside will not fuse as well as with a hairier yarn.

The pattern is written for 3 colours, but the number of colours can be expanded. As written, the main colour uses close to 25 grams, the other 2 contrast colours around 20 grams each.
