An easy, but elaborate-looking, cable motif meanders up the height of this knitted winter cowl, curving around occasional bobbles, which are added for texture and interest. Worian means “to roam or wander” in Old English which describes the winding path of these curving cables.

Circumference: 62 cm/24 inches unstretched; 96 cm/38 inches stretched
Height: 30 cm/12 inches
Gauge – blocked
10 stitches and 13 Rows = 5 cm/2 inches in stockinette stitch in the round on US 7 (4.5 mm) needles
Approximate yardage - est. 185 g/6.4 oz. (294 m/322 yds)
Yarn - Poppy Yarn and Fibre Galway Worsted 183 m/115 g (200 yds/4 oz), 2 balls. Colour Hot Tamale. Any currently available Light Worsted (#3) yarn with similar yardage may be substituted.
Needles - US 7 (4.5 mm) circular, 22″/56cm long
Notions - Stitch markers, tapestry needle, cable needle
