Work in Progress (WiP) Pin
A new .pdf version was uploaded at 8:30 US EST on Oct 21, 2009. New version includes better discussion of choosing knitting patterns and better instructions for the pin making. The newest .pdf should include “v3” at the end of the file name.
Gauge is unimportant for this project, as is the yarn chosen. The pattern is written for any fingering weight yarn, but any slightly larger or smaller yarn can be used if the number of stitches is adjusted accordingly for the size desired. A very small amount of yarn is required, so this is a perfect project for using up scraps. The needle size is knitters’ choice--any size that makes a pleasing fabric and stitches that fit well on the toothpicks.
Additional materials:
- Toothpicks
- Beads
- Multi-purpose glue
- Furniture finish repair markers (optional)
- Pin backing
- Sandpaper
- Wire cutters (or something else to cut toothpicks)
