Please excuse the iPhone’s terrible picture quality!
The piece was not worked with a specific gauge, I just happened to have a fondness for size six needles and an excess of red heart super saver yarn. This was for a school project, so in between teaching three people to knit I definitely did not calculate yardage. Honestly this can be worked at any size with extra neutral-colored hexagons added around it to make it larger if needed.
The hexagons are based on the standard hexipuff designs I’ve seen with a 10st base row and a 20st middle. I would suggest, if you use this to make hexipuffs, maybe go down one needle size to make sure stuffing doesn’t peek through. Of course if you make hexis, you can just use one of the flags that particularly appeals to you!
Working it flat, you just cast on 10 and work your increases and decreases on the knit side. I slipped the beginning stitch of each row because I was knitting the pieces together as I went. You can go chronologically or do what I did and knit the odd rows first and then use the even rows to knit them together. You can seam them if you want but I usually find that looks a little messier if you’ve knit each column as a whole. If you want more specifics on anything, please feel free to ask!
There is no PDF because the Excel spreadsheet does not conform well to Adobe’s PDF dimensions.
