Worry Angel
“Tell me your worry, I’m in no hurry.
I’m here for you day or night.
‘A trouble shared is a trouble halved.’
Together, we’ll put things right.”
About 3’’ high, a delicate lace cotton angel is worked with chain, slip-stitch, double crochet and treble stitches. The wings and flowers are worked within rounds of the pattern which uses UK terminology.
When completed, it is stiffened with a proprietary fabric stiffener or diluted PVA craft glue. Ideal as a standing table ornament or decoration, it can be turned into a hanging decoration by the addition of a thread hanger.
Colour variations are suggested in the pattern, together with instructions for making the support cone when allowing the stiffener to dry.
The pattern suggests using #10 cotton with a 1.75mm hook, but any size thread or yarn with appropriate hook will be of use.
About 9 angels can be produced from one ball of ‘Empress’ cotton.
