Worsted Celtic Coasters
Versions in both US and UK crochet terms.
This pattern is designed to create a coaster of a similar size to my original ‘Celtic Coasters’ pattern but made in worsted weight yarn.
The coasters are made by interleaving four crochet strips together. You only need a small amount of yarn in four different colours.
They should come out about 4 inches / 10cm square as long as you choose a suitable hook to meet the approximate gauge/tension.
The headline photograph is made in Lily’s Sugar ‘n’ Cream Solids yarn but any 100% cotton worsted / Aran weight yarn would be suitable. There is one made in Scheepjes Cahlista in the photograph with four coasters
In that photograph the two on the left are made from this pattern, the two on the right from the earlier pattern. The top one on the right is my original Celtic coaster and the one underneath shows how large a coaster you get if you make that coaster in worsted weight cotton.
Thank you to all my testers for helping making this pattern the best it could be and suitable for beginners.
