Note - this is the type of pattern you can just continue to make as large as you like. No alterations needed, just keep knitting.

Slip, knit, slip, knit - good tv knitting at its prettiest. Grab a skein of variegated sock yarn and get started! I love this stitch because it gives the woven effect of linen stitch but grows quickly. “Woven” is best used with variegated yarns, giving them a unique effect because the slipped stitches put the yarn at different levels within the same row.

The shawl was designed to be a wearable art piece. No lace, no frills, just pure, fierce, hand dyed yarn, fabulously (as we do) whipped up with two needles.

If you have more than 400 yards, just continue with the main body of the shawl for a longer one - no adjustments need to be made. Ditto for a heavier weight yarn with larger needles.

The reverse side of the shawl is seen in the last picture - totally reversible.

Shown in Miss Babs “Perfectly Wreckless” and “Thunder Island” - the more variegated the better for this pattern!

Materials

One skein of fingering/ sock yarn, 400 yards.
US 4/3.5mm needle for main body
US 3/3.25mm for seed stitch border rows (because the stitch is larger, the smaller needle will prevent curling).
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Final measurements 56” along longest (neck) edge

Thanks for looking - happy knitting!
